We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

2) What personal data we collect and why

Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media uploads

If you upload images, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Contact forms

If you use a contact form, we process the information you submit (e.g., name, email, message) to respond to your enquiry and provide support. We don’t use this information for marketing without your consent.

Embedded content

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website and may set cookies or track interactions.

Logs & security

Our hosting environment may automatically log technical data (e.g., IP address, timestamps) to maintain security and reliability of the service (firewall/anti-spam/availability).

Analytics

We currently do not use third-party analytics on public pages. If we enable analytics later, we will update this policy.

We process personal data on the following bases:

  • Contact form messages: retained as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable archiving.
  • User accounts (if enabled): profile information is stored while the account exists. Administrators can view and edit that information.

Subject to GDPR and local law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto).

If personal data is transferred outside the EEA by our service providers, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

Our site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
